Stress and Aging–Part 5 How De-stressing With Brainwave Entrainment Lengthens Your Life

Okay, enough doom and gloom.

How do we fix this?  How do we stop aging so fast?

There has to be a way to minimize the effects of stress on our minds and bodies, aging us prematurely…and there is.  It’s called brainwave entrainment.

Brainwave entrainment is a scientifically proven technology that introduces audio and/or visual pulses, in specific patterns, to the brain with the intention of changing its frequency, thus changing its state of consciousness.

A whole lot of research has been conducted on how changing your brainwave frequency can change what is happening in the brain and what kind of signals it sends out to the body.

The brainwave of meditation, the alpha brainwave, 8 – 12 cycles per second or Hz, has been found to be extremely beneficial in stopping the excessive release of stress hormones like cortisol, and instrumental in the intended release of hormones that feel good and heal the body.  Entrainment can induce a state of meditation, each and every time you listen to a specially designed session.  Brainwave entrainment alters your state of consciousness.

Meditation creates a state of metabolic restfulness far deeper than that of sleep.  Scientific studies prove that meditation results in better flow of blood to the brain, which helps relax muscles, decreases the release of stress hormones, leading to a quick rejuvenation of your mind and body, leaving you healed from the effects of fatigue, stress and tension.

Meditation, in combination with brainwave entrainment, lasts even when you’ve stopped listening to the recording, restoring balance.  With continuous use of a session, new permanent neural pathways are formed in the gray matter of the brain, helping you better cope with stress, raising your stress threshold.

Brainwave Entrainment….

  • Increases serotonin production, an important neurotransmitter and neuropeptide that influences mood and behavior…(Prozac increases serotonin to treat depression)

  • Low levels of serotonin usually is indicated by depression, obesity, insomnia, narcolepsy, sleep apnea, migraines, premenstrual syndrome, and fibromyalgia.

  • Increases melatonin, an important neurotransmitter and neuropeptide that also influences mood and behavior (derived from serotonin) regulates sleep, and may have anti-carcinogen and immune enhancing effects.

  • Dramatically effects the production of three hormones related to longevity of life and over all well-being:  cortisol, DHEA, and melatonin.

  • Reduces cortisol, a stress response hormone that can destroy the body.

  • Increases DHEA, a good hormone that the body needs to develop a strong immune system.

  • Increases melatonin, produced during sleep.

Out Of The Mouths Of The Experts

Dr. Vincent Giampapa, head of the Longevity Institute International and Past-President of the American Board of Anti-Aging Medicine, tested the effect of audio brainwave entrainment on hormones.  He found increased levels of melatonin and DHEA, and reduced levels of cortisol.

Tina L. Huange, PhD and Christine Charyton, PhD, confirm the benefits of brainwave entrainment on super-learning, improved memory, I.Q., alleviating migraines and depression and enhancing creativity.

Eva Selhub, MD, Medical Director of the Mind/Body Medical Institute says, “if we can affect the stress response, we can affect the aging process.”  She says “There’s a reason why experienced meditators live so long and look so young.”  (The Anti-Aging Effects of Meditation)

Bernie Siegel, MD, Professor, Yale University School of Medicine in the book Love, Medicine, and Miracles “Other doctors’ scientific research, and my own day-to-day clinical experience have convinced me that the state of mind changes the state of the body by working through the central nervous system, the endocrine system, and the immune system.  Peace of mind sends the body a ‘live’ message, while depression, fear, and unresolved conflict give it a ‘die’ message.”

“The physical benefits of meditation have recently been well documented by Western medical researchers,” says Dr. Siegel.  “Meditation also raises the pain threshold and reduces one’s biological age…in short, it reduces wear and tear on both body and mind, helping people live longer and better.”

Brainwave entrainment may just be the answer to putting the brakes on aging and the damaging effects of stress.
